Lake Sundance is one of Calgary's most southerly Lake communities. It is located East of Macleod Trail with Fish Creek Provincial Park forming it’s north and east boundaries. It contains many amenities, including easy access to the City's extensive pathway system. The land comprising this community was annexed to the City in several stages during the late 1970s and early 1980s. Residential development of Sundance began in 1982.

The park was developed by Keith Construction and opened in 1980. The lake is approximately 33 acres and the park is approximately 22 acres. On average, the lake is 22' deep and is 38 feet at its deepest point. This park and lake are for the exclusive use of members and their guests.

HOUSING:

There is a large range of various types of housing and pricing in this Calgary lake community. A variety of affordable options of detached single family homes are available in the NW corner of the development. There are also a number of luxury townhouse condominiums as well as detached homes that offer lake front lots with private lake docks or lots backing directly onto the escarpment of Fish Creek Provincial Park. The wild life and bike trails are numerous.

Both Public and Separate Schooling from Kindergarten through High School are available in the community. A French Immersion elementary school is also an option here. An encumbrance is registered against the title of the homeowner, so lake fees are mandatory. Lake fees for most homes are $210.00 + GST per year. Fees for homes on lake access are $265.00 + GST and lake front homes are $285.00 + GST per year. A member is the homeowner(s) and/or their spouse and their un-married children who live at the residence. Members will be issued ID cards that must be presented when entering the park.
