Developed by Carma, the Calgary lake community of Auburn Bay began construction in 2003. Auburn Bay is a new suburban residential neighbourhood in the south-east quadrant of Calgary, Alberta. It is located at the south-eastern edge of the city, and is bounded by Seton Boulevard to the south, Deerfoot Trail to the west, the yet-to-be-constructed 52 Street E extension to the east and Marquis of Lorne Trail to the north.
The South Health Campus and southeast Calgary hospital is located immediately to the south of the community offering residents a close proximity to health related employment and health care services.
A proposed southeastern extension of the city's C-Train system is planned to run along the community's eastern boundary, parallel to 52nd Street.
The landscaped stone entry, introduces the cottage-country atmosphere, and creates a striking approach to Auburn Bay. Beyond, a pine, birch and spruce-lined boulevard, with sweeping views of the mountains and downtown skyline, draws you towards the lake, Auburn House and the community's charming homes. This 900-acre master-planned community will eventually be comprised of more than 6,000 homes encircling a 43-acre freshwater lake.
Construction continues in this new community offering buyers a number of options. Residents can choose to build their own home with one of several community approved builders or to purchase a re-sale home. The diversity of options is evident from entry level single family homes, attached and condominium style housing developments to mid range family detached homes and also to the high end executive homes offering lots with lake front living.
There are currently no community schools in Auburn Bay. Students are bussed to neighbouring community schools.
With an abundance of green spaces, ponds, parks and tot lots, Auburn Bay is exceptionally livable. 13 acres have been devoted to a private park, whose centerpiece is Auburn House – a 7,000 square foot contemporary lodge housing everything a community needs to enjoy being a community. From the moment you enter Auburn Bay, you'll feel at home in this embracing, four-season, lake community. Auburn Bay offers the inspiration, relaxation and sense of belonging inherent in a cottage lifestyle with all the conveniences of city living. Residents can enjoy four seasons of recreation at Auburn Bay's 43-acre freshwater lake and 13-acre private park. In summer, enjoy a game of tennis or volleyball, cool off in the water spray park, have a family barbeque or just relax on the beach. And when the snow flies, there's a hockey rink, pleasure skating area, toboggan hill and linear pathways.
Your exclusive membership in the Auburn Bay Residents Association is automatic and mandatory with the purchase of an Auburn Bay home. Membership dues provide the necessary resources to maintain Auburn Bay's exclusive facilities for the enjoyment of all Auburn Bay residents.
